How to Order Tags to Complete Your Online Purchase
Several licences issued in Alberta are issued with a tag(s) and shows the validity of the hunter/angler to hunt/fish the specified type of species at the specified time and location. To purchase a licence online, which requires tags, you must have a pre-numbered green tag(s)
before you begin your purchase process. During the online checkout you will be asked to add the number on the paper tag to purchase your licence(s).
The electronic tag pilot has been paused until further notice

There are multiple options to obtain the paper tags:
1. Order tags through the
mobile App:
- In the App, select the menu icon (three horziontal lines on the top left), then select Order Tags. Enter your information and the number of tags you are requesting.
- You will receive your tags in 7 to 10 business days.
2. Order tags on AlbertaRELM.com:
- Go to the Contact Us page and select Order Tags in the Problem/Question dropdown.
- Provide your complete mailing address in the Details section so that your order can be processed immediately.
- Include the number of tags you would like sent to you.
- Complete the remaining items in the form.
- Click Submit Form.
- You will receive your tags in 7 to 10 business days.
3. Order tags by calling the AlbertaRELM.com Help Desk at 1-888-944-5494:
- Be ready to provide the representative with your full name, mailing address and the number of tags you are requesting.
- You will receive your tags in 7 to 10 business days.
4. Pick up tags free of charge at an Issuer location:
- Locate a local issuer in your area using the Issuer search tool.
- It is recommended to contact the Issuer before visiting to confirm their operating hours.
How to use tag(s) and wires:
Immediately after harvesting a big game animal or special licence walleye, the appropriate tag(s) must be affixed and securely locked to the animal. Visit
